Established in 1959, Katsina Motel began as a private guest house for British officials in the Northern Region. With just three structures — a kitchen, restaurant, and one double room — it offered a quiet retreat for dignitaries.
In the 1970s and 80s, the motel grew into a popular destination for travelers and the community, with the addition of more rooms, a modern conference hall, and facilities that made it a preferred choice for both leisure and official functions.
Over the years, changing times and management challenges caused the motel to lose its sparkle. But in 2025, a bold new chapter began when Governor Dikko Radda partnered with Omu Resort in a groundbreaking N2.65 billion revitalization deal. This 10-year lease will breathe new life into Katsina Motel, transforming it into a luxurious hospitality hub for Katsina and beyond.
